Facebook Live Stream App

Facebook last week launched the Live Stream App for the general public. It is similar to Periscope, but much better option since you already have your audience built on Facebook while on Periscope you have to start from scratch. This app was launched in beta testing since August and only celebrities were able to use it (like the Dwayne Johnson aka “The Rock” did on the red carpet this summer). Now everyone can use it. Just get the latest version of the FB app, then go on status, type in the title of your stream and …3,2,1, Camera, ACTION!!!

This is a great way to leverage the social media. Use it to your advantage, as in 5 years 79% of social media content will be video. I had 145 viewers tune in my Christmas ride while I was streaming live and commenting while the stream was happening (and it was my first class stream). The video stays on your timeline (unless you decide to delete it). Right now I have 804 views, which is a day later. People can subscribe to you and they will get notified when you stream again. Who needs the Peloton bikes anymore, when you can stream YOUR class? The only downfall is that it is limited to 30 minutes, but the possibilities are endless.

Merry XMAS!!!
